Burning more than 80 mins worth of MP3 across multiple audio CDs
also known as: multiple or overspan audio CDs, split playlist across audio CDs
Problem: You have a selection of a few dozen to thousands mp3s and want to burn these mp3s to audio CDs (because let’s say you are a DJ whose equiment only supports this medium) at once. Your normal burning suites very often don’t make this easy. First you go the hard route by burning each CD project manually. This soon gets very boring so you decide to do some googling and that’s how you got here.
Solution: Luckily there are some applications that can make your life easier. I present to you the programs that I have found so far. Decide for yourself which one you like best.
- Roxio Easy Media Creator (EMC) from version 8 (as far as I have tested) onwards. You are looking for the “Music Disc Creator” which is part of the suite. It is probably the best solution for its nice sorting and rearranging options (if you can cope with the suite’s bloat).
- MediaMonkey, from version 3.0 on: “burn audio across multiple Audio CDs”
- FillCD (not tested yet)
- SizeMe (not tested yet)
- M3Util - a M3U/MP3 Playlist splitting utility (not tested yet)
